Founding MP & CEO of Slate Blue Capital

Alexandra Pohl is the Founder, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Partner of Slate Blue Capital, a next-generation private equity platform operating at global, multi-trillion-dollar scale, bringing institutional discipline, product innovation, and purpose-driven leadership to real assets, private credit, technology infrastructure, and special situations.

Raised in a real estate family, Alexandra developed an early foundation in capital strategy and asset performance. She earned dual undergraduate degrees in Business Management and Exercise Science while competing as a Hall of Fame NAIA Division I dual sport athlete, and later received her MBA in Global Business Management. She began her career in the private sector, spending more than seven years with Toyota and Danfoss in roles spanning complex, multi-site operations and capital project execution. At Toyota, she trained in Lean and Toyota Production System (TPS) methodologies, focusing on process optimization and execution efficiency. At Danfoss, she led energy and industrial initiatives across multiple markets, with responsibility for program delivery, KPI standardization, and budget performance.

“People fear failure. I fear average.”               - Alexandra Pohl

Alexandra subsequently served for over eight years in senior leadership roles within the U.S. federal government, where she oversaw large-scale regulatory and infrastructure initiatives. In her most recent leadership role, she oversaw more than $300 million in development, repositioning, and infrastructure projects. This experience provides her with a differentiated perspective at the intersection of public policy, infrastructure development, and institutional capital deployment.

At Slate Blue Capital, Alexandra has architected a multi-strategy investment platform grounded in disciplined underwriting, cross-cycle risk management, and institutional-grade governance. Her approach reflects the core attributes of leading global alternatives firms: founder-led stewardship, disciplined expansion into adjacencies including private credit and insurance-aligned capital, and a diversified product architecture supported by rigorous KPI frameworks and operational execution.

Under her leadership, Slate Blue Capital oversees an integrated ecosystem of more than two dozen subsidiaries spanning real estate and adjacent sectors, including property and asset management, housing (including affordable and Section 8), hospitality, logistics, data infrastructure, and specialty lending. The platform is supported by centralized capital markets, treasury, and shared services functions, as well as a standardized data infrastructure that enhances underwriting, accelerates diligence, and drives operating performance—resulting in faster execution, improved cost efficiency, and resilient cash flows.
