Meet the Founding MP & CEO of Slate Blue Capital
Alexandra Pohl is the Co-Founder, Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer of Slate Blue Capital, a next-generation private equity platform operating at global, multi-trillion–scale bringing institutional discipline, product innovation, and purpose-driven leadership to real assets, private credit, technology infrastructure, and special situations.
Raised in a real estate family, Alexandra built early mastery in capital strategy and asset performance. She earned dual undergraduate degrees in Business Management and Exercise Science while competing as a dual-sport NAIA athlete, later sharpening her competitive edge through martial arts, and completing an MBA in Global Business Management. Prior to public service, she spent 7+ years in the private sector at Toyota and Danfoss, leading complex, multi-site project management. At Toyota she absorbed lean/TPS disciplines to streamline timelines and vendor workflows; at Danfoss she delivered energy-efficiency and industrial rollouts across markets, standardizing KPIs and tightening variance-to-budget. Before founding Slate Blue, she spent 8+ years in senior U.S. federal leadership overseeing complex regulatory and infrastructure initiatives - experience that gives her rare fluency at the intersection of policy, public finance, and institutional capital formation. She has personally led $300+ million in ground-up development, repositioning, and infrastructure projects.

“People fear failure. I fear average.” - Alexandra Pohl
At Slate Blue, Alexandra has architected a multi-strategy platform grounded in rigorous underwriting, cross-cycle risk management, and LP-grade transparency. Her operating playbook reflects the hallmarks of top global alternatives firms: founder-led stewardship and innovation; disciplined expansion into adjacencies (including private credit and insurance-aligned solutions); diversified product architecture with institutional governance and KPI rigor; and a durable culture of ownership, accountability, and measurable value creation.
Under Alexandra’s leadership, Slate Blue oversees two dozen subsidiaries spanning core real estate and real-economy adjacencies - ranging from property and asset management to hospitality, housing (including affordable/Section 8), tech-enabled infrastructure (data centers, storage, logistics), specialty lending, and select lifestyle and services brands. This integrated ecosystem is supported by centralized treasury, capital markets, shared services, and a real-time data layer that standardizes underwriting, accelerates diligence, and compounds operating insights - driving faster closes, tighter cost curves, superior tenant/guest experience, and resilient cash flows.
Hallmarks of Leadership
Platform Builder: Under Alexandra’s direction, Slate Blue scales cross-asset capabilities from a single operating spine - shared IC governance, risk taxonomy, and KPI hierarchy - so playbooks transfer seamlessly across strategies. Centralized data, standardized underwriting, and 100-day value plans drive repeatable value creation with tighter control and faster execution.
Adjacency & Product Innovation: She expands the platform into private credit, continuation vehicles, and insurance-aligned capital to optimize origination, duration, and liquidity through cycles. This product architecture enables Slate Blue to fund more deals, hold winners longer, and recycle capital efficiently without sacrificing discipline.
Global Mindset, Local Execution: Alexandra allocates with a global lens on rates, risk, and regulation, then executes through local partners and municipal relationships to de-risk delivery. Market scorecards and community-benefit agreements translate strategy into city-by-city wins - faster entitlements, better cost control, and stronger pre-leasing.
LP Alignment & Transparency: She hard-wires incentives to long-term value with LP aligned terms, independent valuations, and a unified KPI/reporting pack across vintages. LPs receive auditable attribution bridges, and risk heatmaps - no surprises, just discipline.
Public-Minded Leadership: Alexandra converts policy change into investable roadmaps via annual forums, operator training, and partnerships that strengthen the license to build. Transparent, third party-assured impact disclosures and workforce pipelines turn community trust into a durable operating advantage.
Alexandra’s profit-with-purpose framework embeds sustainability, equitable development, and workforce inclusion into underwriting and operations - aiming to compound value for limited partners, portfolio companies, and communities alike. Outside the boardroom, she channels this ethos through a lifelong passion for helping and rescuing animals, supporting shelters and rescue efforts and underscoring her belief that leadership is measured not only by returns but by the lives improved along the way.

" I love my Mom!" - Kane

Meet the COO of Slate Blue Capital
Suebina Wong is the Chief Operating Officer of Slate Blue Capital, where she runs the firm’s operational system, turning strategy into execution across the current 31-office national platform. Before joining Slate Blue Capital, Suebina ranked among the top real estate agents nationwide for five consecutive years, leading acquisitions, market entry, and asset repositioning. Earlier, she served 12 years in the U.S. Intelligence Community - six years on active duty in the U.S. Army - as a Senior SIGINT Geospatial Analyst and mission team lead supporting OIF, OND, OEF, and RSMA; she later trained 1,000+ intelligence professionals, translating complex data into actionable plans.

" It's not luck, it's strategic planning."
- Suebina Wong
Under her operational direction, Slate Blue Capital’s shared services platform - treasury, capital markets, FP&A, procurement, legal/compliance, and data - standardizes underwriting, speeds diligence, and compresses cost curves across operating companies. The outcome: faster integrations, cleaner handoffs, improved resident/tenant/guest experience, and durable cash generation.
Hallmarks of Leadership
Operational Excellence & Scale: Suebina operates a common control framework - clear decision rights, SOPs, and a unified KPI stack - so methods travel cleanly across strategies and cities. A central PMO and 100-day operating plans accelerate post-close stabilization and reduce variance to plan.
Portfolio Performance & Value Levers: She partners with operators to drive pricing, procurement, and margin capture, linking initiatives directly to cash conversion. Quarterly operating reviews tie action items to measurable movement in net operating income, multiple on invested capital/distributions to paid-in, and working-capital turns.
Risk, Compliance & Controls: An enterprise risk map is built into workflows - liquidity, counterparty, regulatory, cyber - with defined thresholds and escalation paths. Independent valuations, audit cadence, and policy stewardship maintain readiness through cycles.
Technology, Data & AI: Suebina owns the data layer - a single source of truth with standardized underwriting models and live dashboards. AI-assisted forecasting and anomaly detection sharpen underwriting speed and portfolio visibility while preserving control.
Capital & Liquidity Operations: She synchronizes treasury and capital-markets activity with product operations to align duration and deployment. Net asset value facilities, continuation structures, and insurance-aligned solutions provide flexibility to hold high performers longer and recycle capital efficiently.
LP Service & Reporting: Limited partners receive a consistent reporting pack - auditable metrics, fee/expense transparency, and risk heatmaps - on a predictable cadence. Clear narratives and no surprise communication strengthen re-ups and accelerate fundraising timelines.
Talent, Culture & Readiness: Drawing on mission planning from her military background, Suebina builds teams that operate with clarity under pressure. Structured training, succession pipelines, and cross-functional drills keep the platform ready to scale in any environment.
